Statement regarding LockBit claims

Earlier this morning we became aware of tweets from LockBit, the cyber-criminal gang, claiming that they had compromised Darktrace’s internal security systems and had accessed our data. Our security teams have run a full review of our internal systems and can see no evidence of compromise. None of the LockBit social media posts link to any compromised Darktrace data. We will continue to monitor the situation extremely closely, but based on our current investigations we are confident that our systems remain secure and all customer data is fully protected.

NHS Offered AI Software Free of Charge by Leading Cyber Security Firm Darktrace

March 31, 2020

Darktrace has today announced that it will be offering its cyber AI software to the NHS for free to help defend their IT systems from cyber-attack during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

The company makes the announcement amidst a rise in opportunistic hackers, who aim to exploit the chaos caused by the pandemic to compromise critical systems.

“This announcement from Darktrace is very welcome, as it is crucial that the NHS’s digital systems remain resilient to cyber-attacks during this period,” commented Craig York, Chief Technology Officer, Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. “At Milton Keynes University Hospital, Darktrace’s AI is fundamental in helping us defend our network against cyber-attacks, because it autonomously responds to security incidents before they do damage.”

“We have seen a surge in cyber-attacks sweeping across organisations since the outbreak began. We know that the NHS cannot afford any disruption as they are on the front-line of the fight against the virus,” commented Poppy Gustafsson, CEO, Darktrace. “Given the current crisis, Darktrace is proud to offer its world-leading AI cyber security technology to NHS trusts free of charge to help protect patient data and the provision of critical services.”
