Statement regarding LockBit claims

Earlier this morning we became aware of tweets from LockBit, the cyber-criminal gang, claiming that they had compromised Darktrace’s internal security systems and had accessed our data. Our security teams have run a full review of our internal systems and can see no evidence of compromise. None of the LockBit social media posts link to any compromised Darktrace data. We will continue to monitor the situation extremely closely, but based on our current investigations we are confident that our systems remain secure and all customer data is fully protected.

Darktrace Reports Over 500% Growth in Bookings

February 8, 2016

Darktrace, the leader in Enterprise Immune System technology, today announced that year-on-year bookings growth was 510%, with revenue growth of 450%, reflecting demand for its unique approach to cyber defense. The headcount has grown 231%, and now stands at close to 200 employees in 18 locations around the world, with new US headquarters in San Francisco and a new office on the Champs-Élysées in Paris.

There have been more than 750 installations of the technology to date, with a quarter of these in the financial services industry, including global banks and hedge funds, though companies in all sectors have adopted Darktrace. The Industrial Immune System technology has been taken up by utilities, manufacturing and energy companies, including nuclear and power stations. More than 120 partners have signed up to work with Darktrace all over the world.

Based on mathematics and machine learning developed at the University of Cambridge, Darktrace’s Enterprise Immune System has detected over 5,500 serious cyber incidents within users’ networks so far, allowing them to get ahead of potential risk.

Martin Sloan, Head of Safety and Security at Drax, one of the largest power generation and infrastructure companies in the UK, said: “Darktrace adds another level of sophistication to our defense systems, and has already identified threats with the potential to disrupt our networks. It helps us stay ahead of emerging threats and better defend our key systems", thus highlighting product effectiveness and customer satisfaction.

In recognition of its success, Darktrace has received 19 awards, most recently being recognized among the top of the list of ‘Bloomberg Business Innovators 2016’. Other accolades include ‘World Economic Technology Pioneer 2015’ and Gartner ‘Cool Vendor’ 2015. Darktrace is a finalist in three categories of Info Security PG's Global Excellence Awards, the winner to be announced at the RSA® Conference in March, where Darktrace will also be introducing another innovative product based on further advances in machine learning from its Cambridge R&D team.

Nicole Eagan, CEO at Darktrace, comments on the business’ phenomenal growth: “It is clear that the application of machine learning to cyber security is an industry game-changer and Darktrace provides a truly unique solution in the face of evolving cyber threat. We look forward to continuing our expansion in 2016, as even more organizations learn of the benefit our next-generation security has to offer.”
