Statement regarding LockBit claims

Earlier this morning we became aware of tweets from LockBit, the cyber-criminal gang, claiming that they had compromised Darktrace’s internal security systems and had accessed our data. Our security teams have run a full review of our internal systems and can see no evidence of compromise. None of the LockBit social media posts link to any compromised Darktrace data. We will continue to monitor the situation extremely closely, but based on our current investigations we are confident that our systems remain secure and all customer data is fully protected.

Darktrace Partners with Ixtel for Best-in-Class Cyber Threat Detection

September 21, 2016

Darktrace, the leader in Enterprise Immune System technology, today announced their partnership with Ixtel, a leader in managed security services, to deliver a world leading cyber threat detection solution. Ixtel Technologies is joining Darktrace’s established partner program, extending proactive, self-learning cyber defense capabilities across its client base.

Ixtel secures enterprise networks for organizations across multiple verticals with a comprehensive approach to cyber security, from the detection and prevention of network threats, intrusions and disruptions, to ensuring customers have the information, tools and resources they need to block, deflect and effectively manage IT risk.

Modern criminal and nation state cyber-attacks can side step traditional defenses in multiple ways. For an insider, it is often even simpler, as they already have keys to the locks. Ixtel recognizes the cyber defense challenges its customers face and has selected Darktrace, recently awarded ‘Best Security Company of the Year’ in the Info Security Products Guide 2016, for its machine learning and analytical cyber-threat detection.

Darktrace is uniquely capable of detecting in-progress cyber-threats from within an organization without prior knowledge of the threat environment or the network. Instead, Darktrace continually learns a ‘pattern of life’ for every user, device and network, enabling it to adapt to evolving situations and spot fast-moving, advanced cyber-threats.

Most advanced threats have penetrated traditional defenses and are inside the network for over 200 days on average before executing an attack. To detect such threats, companies need a solution that does not rely on having already seen and characterized an attack. This means watching the behavior of individual machines — including desktops, servers, mobile phones and tablets — and users over time.

“Darktrace’s unique capabilities complement Ixtel Proactive Security Intelligence Platform, so we can now enable customers’ real-time visibility into network security infrastructure, policy effectiveness and underlying IT risk, arming organizations with actionable information to strengthen their overall security posture,” said Mehdi Quraishi, Chief Executive Officer at Ixtel.

“Darktrace’s Enterprise Immune System technology is transforming the way organizations defend against today’s increasingly sophisticated threats by using advanced maths and machine learning,” said Nick Trim, Managing Director, Darktrace. “We are looking forward to collaborating with Ixtel to deliver best-in-class cyber solutions that respond to this challenging threat landscape.”
